About Me

My name is Sherry, though some know me as Shae. I’m a mother, a writer, a certified herbalist, a rune magic teacher, and a practising Norse Pagan who has walked this path for most of my life.  I began reading tarot and runes when I was 13, and over the years my work has grown through study, experience, spirit-led practice, and the kind of learning that only comes from living through both darkness and change. I’ve been practising Seiðr and working with the old ways for around 45 years, and today I serve as Seiðkona to a wonderful Norse Pagan clan.

For a long time, I softened how I spoke about my path because not everyone understood it. I used safer words, gentler labels, and language that made my work easier for others to accept. But this site is different. Weaving The Wyrd is a return to my roots.  I am a Seiðkona. I read the runes. I work with a Norse-inspired runic tarot deck. I read the patterns of astrology. I listen to the threads beneath the surface.

For me, this work has never been about performance, gimmicks, or telling people what they want to hear. It’s about standing at the edge of the Wyrd and looking honestly at what is moving through a person’s life: the choices, the patterns, the warnings, the openings, the strengths, and the unseen influences gathering around them.

My Path

My learning has taken me down many roads. I’ve worked with paranormal investigation groups as both an intuitive medium and a sceptic, read for people at fairs and tarot shops in both America and the United Kingdom, written horoscopes and tarot content for a well-known astrology and tarot site, and spent decades offering readings face to face, online, and by email.

I’ve also learned through my ancestors, through spirit, through history, through the land, through the runes, and through years of walking a path that doesn’t always fit neatly into modern spiritual boxes.  My love of ancient history, genealogy, folklore, and the old ways brought me back again and again to my Norse roots. That’s where my practice feels most honest. That’s where my work has its bones.

Outside of my spiritual work, I’m also someone who loves gardening, crochet, cross-stitch, archaeology, ancient history, reading, the occasional game of bingo, and being surrounded by cats. Life may be full of deep mysteries, but there’s still room for muddy boots, tangled yarn, and wondering where I put my coffee.

About Seiðr and My Work

Seiðr is an old Norse magical and spiritual practice connected with seeing, sensing, shaping, and working with the unseen threads of life. It’s often associated with prophecy, trance, spirit work, fate, healing, protection, and the movement of Wyrd.

As a Seiðkona, my work is not about claiming power over someone else’s life. It’s about listening deeply, reading the signs, and helping people understand the pattern forming around them. The Norns may weave the great threads, but we still have choices in how we meet what comes.

In my own practice, I also honour the deeper spiritual layers found within Norse belief: the fylgja, the spirit companion or following presence linked with a person’s path; the vörðr, the guardian or watching spirit; and hamingja, the luck, strength, and spiritual fortune that can move through a person, family, or line. These ideas remind us that we are not just flesh and bone moving through a random world. We carry history, spirit, memory, protection, and possibility.

My readings and spiritual work draw from these roots. I use runes, Norse tarot, astrology, intuition, signs, and spiritual clearing to help reveal what may be hidden, tangled, blocked, or ready to shift.

How I Work

My readings are honest, thoughtful, and done by me personally. I don’t use fear, false promises, or dramatic claims. I won’t sugarcoat a reading just to make it sound pretty, but I also believe truth should be given with care.  My aim is to help you see more clearly.  That may mean understanding a difficult situation, recognising a repeating pattern, finding your way through a crossroads, reconnecting with your own strength, or making peace with something from the past. Sometimes the work is about guidance. Sometimes it’s about healing. Sometimes it’s about clearing what has become heavy so you can stand more firmly in yourself again.

I’ve been reading for others face to face for more than 35 years, and I’ve offered online and email readings for around 20 years. Email readings allowed me to reach people further afield, and after my own health challenges, they also became a way for me to continue offering meaningful work while honouring my own limits.

I’ve been living with cancer for the past 6 years, and that has changed me, as such things do. It has stripped away a lot of what no longer matters and brought me back to what does: honesty, courage, spirit, roots, and the work I’m here to do.

Weaving The Wyrd is part of that return.

This is where I bring together the old ways, the runes, the sky, the spirits, the ancestors, and the deep knowing that we are always becoming. Your path may not always be easy, but it can be met with clearer eyes, steadier hands, and a deeper understanding of the threads you carry.
